ChatGPT Evaluation

ChatGPT is a new natural language processing (NLP) computer program that uses AI and NLP
concepts to have human-like conversations. You can ask questions, ask ChatGPT to create
written content (emails, lists, essays, even computer code) and ChatGPT will respond in a
conversational way.

The reason there is so much buzz around ChatGPT is because of its ability to learn from vast
amounts of data and generate responses that are contextually relevant and coherent. This
means that the model can provide highly personalized and engaging interactions with users,
creating a more human-like experience.

ChatGPT as a replacement for humans

ChatGPT can be used to provide limited customer support and lead generation in a corporate
setting. However, it is important to note that while ChatGPT is a powerful tool, it cannot
completely replace humans in these roles.

There are some significant limitations to consider ChatGPT as a replacement for live agents in
lead generation situations. ChatGPT may not be able to handle more complex customer queries that require human empathy and problem-solving skills. ChatGPT may also struggle with understanding and responding appropriately to some cultural or language nuances. In particular, ChatGPT unable to perform the following:

1. Directing a conversation to an outcome. ChatGPT is unable to direct a conversation to a
specified end result – in our case that is lead generation with the intention of collecting
a website visitor’s contact information, and some details about what they are looking
for. purpose is to understand natural language input and generate appropriate
responses that are contextually relevant based on its training data. The conversations it
engages in are determined by the user’s inputs, and it responds accordingly with the aim
of providing informative and helpful answers, suggestions, or opinions. Ultimately, the
direction and outcome of a conversation with ChatGPT will depend on the user’s inputs,
not the system’s pre-determined path.

2. Conversations that require emotional intelligence: ChatGPT may not be able to
understand and respond appropriately to emotional cues, such as recognizing
someone’s distress or offering empathy.

3. Unable to provide adequate responses when a conversation requires specific knowledge
or expertise, and when the query requires time-sensitive or company specific
information. ChatGPT relies on pre-existing data and patterns to generate responses, so
it may struggle to provide accurate information or advice on topics that require
specialized knowledge such as medical diagnosis or legal advice, or on topics that
require company specific data such as hours of operation, product/service offerings etc.

4. Conversations that involve personal or sensitive information: As an AI language model,
ChatGPT cannot guarantee privacy or confidentiality, so sensitive conversations may not
be appropriate.

5. Conversations that involve sarcasm, irony or other nuanced undertones: Let’s face it –
when dealing with website visitors in a chat session, there is no guarantee they will
engage in a “normal” conversation. ChatGPT has difficulty detecting the tone and
context of a person communicating over a text/chat based session, and because of this
limitation ChatGPT may come up with inappropriate responses.

Ultimately, the best approach is to use ChatGPT as a complement to human customer support
and lead generation. This can help to provide a more seamless and efficient experience for
customers, while still allowing for human intervention when needed.

Directing conversations for a specified outcome.

As an AI language model, ChatGPT is not designed to direct a conversation to a predefined
conclusion. Its purpose is to understand natural language input and generate appropriate
responses that are contextually relevant based on its training data. The conversations it
engages in are determined by the user’s inputs, and it responds accordingly with the aim of
providing informative and helpful answers, suggestions, or opinions. Ultimately, the direction
and outcome of a conversation with ChatGPT will depend on the user’s inputs, not the system’s
pre-determined path.

ChatGPT does not do well in situations involving emotional intelligence.

As an AI language model, Chatbot GPT is programmed to understand and respond based on a
set of pre-defined rules and algorithms. While it can identify and interpret certain emotions
expressed through text, it lacks the ability to empathize and understand the nuances of human
emotions, which are often non-verbal.

Conversations requiring emotional intelligence involve recognizing and appropriately
responding to complex emotional cues, such as tone of voice, facial expressions, body language, and cultural background. Chatbot GPT is not capable of understanding such nuances, making it difficult for it to provide accurate and contextually appropriate responses.

Therefore, while Chatbot GPT may be useful for basic conversational interactions, it is limited
when it comes to more complex emotional conversations that require empathy and
understanding beyond what a machine can provide.

ChatGPT does not perform well in conversations that require specific knowledge or expertise.

As an AI language model, ChatGPT has a vast amount of general knowledge and can interact
with humans in a variety of conversational contexts. However, when it comes to conversations
that require specific knowledge or expertise, ChatGPT may not perform well because it lacks
the training and experience required to understand and answer complex questions in such
domains.

For instance, if someone talks about a technical or scientific topic, ChatGPT may not have the
necessary depth of knowledge to provide accurate information or explanations. Similarly, if
someone asks for legal or medical advice, ChatGPT may not be able to provide reliable answers.

Therefore, the effectiveness of ChatGPT is limited to the data it has been trained on, which is
mostly general knowledge data. It cannot match the intelligence and understanding of a human expert who has expertise in a particular domain or field.

Can ChatGPT replace humans for corporate customer support and lead generation scenarios?

While there is a lot of interest in ChatGPT and its capabilities, Apexchat’s approach of providing
live agents in a completely turnkey service offering is irreplaceable by ChatGPT or other
Generative AI tools at this time. ApexChat provides a unique combination of lead generation as
a well-defined outcome, relevant historic expertise in the industries we serve, the ability of live
agents to understand the website visitor’s complex situation and emotional state (and
reciprocate with emotionally intelligent responses).

Ultimately, the best approach is to use ChatGPT as a complement to human agents to provide a more seamless and efficient experience for customers, while still allowing for human
intervention when needed. But for now, we don’t see ChatGPT replacing live agents in the
scenarios we operate in.
